Registration

From 1^st January 2022, AHBRA has the responsibility for establishing and maintaining the register of AHBs and for registering organisations as AHBs.

Statutory Deadline

AHBs with over 300 units have until December 31 2023 to register with AHBRA.

The Approved Housing Bodies Register

The Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 specifies the type of information that AHBRA must enter in the Register.

The Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 outlines the eligibility criteria that an AHB is required to meet in order to register. A person must meet all the eligibility criteria as set out in the Act.

Deemed Registered

All organisations that currently have Approved Housing Body status and are listed on the Department’s register will be ‘deemed to be’ registered.

New Applicants

An organisation wishing to become an Approved Housing Body must meet the Eligibility Criteria and make an Application to Register.
