About the Request for Information

AHBRA issued a Request for information on the 7th February 2022 to all AHBs who were ‘deemed to be registered’.

This is an important first stage in our registration programme. The information will provide AHBRA with an understanding of each AHB and will enable us to provide the appropriate advice and guidance, including how and when to register.

On the 1st January 2022, in line with Section 34 of the Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019, all organisations that held AHB status with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage have been ‘deemed to be registered’ with AHBRA.

Deemed AHBs

All AHBs that have been ‘deemed to be registered’ are asked to complete and submit a Request for Information form to AHBRA. The purpose of this information is to provide AHBRA with useful information about deemed AHBs.

If you are unsure why your AHB has been ‘deemed to be registered’ with AHBRA, please contact us at registration@ahbregulator.ie or call 01-224-3900

What is the purpose of the Request for Information?

The information submitted will provide us with an understanding of deemed organisations, the size and scale of AHBs as well as the different types of organisations. This will provide visibility about regulated entities under AHBRA’s legislative framework. Additionally it will enable us to provide organisations with the appropriate advice and guidance on the new statutory requirements, including how and when to register.

When do I have to submit this information?

All organisations that have been ‘deemed to be registered’ are asked to complete the Request for Information form and submit it alongside their latest set of Financial Statements no later than Wednesday, 30th March 2022.

If you have not completed and returned the Request for Information form, please do so immediately.
